തൊടുപുഴ |  ഇടുക്കി മാങ്കുളത്ത് മരം വീണ് രണ്ട് തോട്ടം തൊഴിലാളികള്‍ മരിച്ചു. മാങ്കുളം സിങ്ക്കുടിയിലാണ് സംഭവം. അപകടത്തില്‍ ആദിവാസി ഉന്നതിയിലെ താമസക്കാരായ സില്ലിയമ്മ (65), വീരലക്ഷ്മി (45) എന്നിവരാണ് മരിച്ചത്.

സ്വകാര്യ വ്യക്തിയുടെ ഏലത്തോട്ടത്തില്‍ പണിയെടുത്ത് കൊണ്ടിരിക്കെയാണ് അപകടം. ശക്തമായ കാറ്റില്‍ തോട്ടത്തിലെ വന്‍മരം കടപുഴകി ഇരുവരുടെയും ദേഹത്തേക്ക് വീഴുകയായിരുന്നു. ഉടന്‍ അടിമാലി താലൂക്ക് ആശുപത്രിയിലേക്ക് എത്തിച്ചെങ്കിലും ജീവന്‍ രക്ഷിക്കാനായില്ല.
