The India Meteorological Department continues to issue yellow alerts for dense fog in the region, impacting mornings, evenings, and nights.
Delhi and nearby cities received light rain on Saturday evening, which improved the air quality to “poor” by Sunday morning and relieved some of the thick fog that had covered parts of the region over the past few days. Temperatures in Delhi NCR are predicted to drop due to the two days of rain, bringing in a new wave of cold weather. Along with the rain, there will be chilly gusts, making it much colder and causing the weather to change back to wintery conditions.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi recorded a low of 7.7 degrees Celsius on Saturday and a maximum temperature settled at 17 degrees Celsius, which is three degrees below the season’s average.

A rain alert has been issued for January 11 and 12. The nighttime temperature may drop much further after the rain.
