Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from Delhi’s Kalkaji, Ramesh Bidhuri, triggered another controversy, stating that Delhi Chief Minister and his nearest rival Atishi is “roaming like a hirni” (deer).
Addressing a rally in the national capital, Bidhuri said, “Dilli ki janta nark bhog rahi hai galiyon mei… galiyon ki halat dekhiye… Kabhi Atishi nahi gayi milne logon se. Lekin ab chunaav ke samay jaise jungle mei hirni bhaagti hai vaise Atishi Dilli ki sadko pr hirni jaise ghoom rahi hain (Due to the poor conditions of the streets, the people of Delhi are suffering… look at the condition of the streets… Atishi never went to meet the people, but now during the elections, she is roaming the streets of Delhi like a deer running in the jungle).”
Responding to Bidhuri’s remarks, the AAP took to ‘X’, and said that the people of Delhi would not forgive such “abusive leaders and party”.
“Abusive party leader Ramesh Bidhuri once again showed his anti-women thinking. BJP candidate Ramesh Bidhuri again made derogatory remarks on Delhi’s female Chief Minister@AtishiAAP. The people of Delhi will not forgive such abusive leaders and parties”, the party wrote in a post on ‘X’.
Noably, this comes after Ramesh Bidhuri stoked a huge controversy, after claiming that “Atishi changed her father”. “This Marlena (Atishi) became Singh. She changed her name. Arvind Kejriwal swore on his children not to align with the corrupt Congress. Marlena changed her father. This reflects the character of the Aam Aadmi Party,” the BJP candidate said.
His remarks drew a heavy criticism from the AAP leaders, with the party chief and former CM Arvind Kejriwal saying that “the women of Delhi avenge this.”
“BJP leaders have crossed all limits of shamelessness. BJP leaders are abusing Delhi Chief Minister Atishi ji. The people of Delhi will not tolerate the insult of a woman Chief Minister. All the women of Delhi will take revenge for this,” Kejriwal said.
Ramesh Bidhuri has been pitted against Atishi from Delhi’s Kalkaji assembly constituency. The Delhi assembly poll will be held on February 5, with the vote counting scheduled for February 8.
