Chandler delivers Demons third goal
As we approach quarter-time, the Demons have a third goal on the board.
After some scrappy play inside the Demons’ attacking 50, Koltyn Tholstrup got a disposal away to Kade Chandler.
Under pressure, Chandler went around the corner to snap a goal with left boot to push the Demons further out in front.

Lynch hits the post
Tom Lynch appeared ready to respond for the Tigers not long after Ed Langdon’s goal.
But from a set-shot just inside the arc, Lynch’s kick lost accuracy late and hit the post for a behind.

Melbourne’s Ed Langdon does the honours with the first goal of the match.
Langdon marked and was awarded a 50-metre penalty after the Tigers’ Steely Green infringed in defence.
From inside the attacking 50, Langdon made no mistake with the set-shot.

Pre-match ceremony takes place

The lights were dimmed at the MCG as the pre-match Anzac Day ceremony was held.
The crowd observed a moment of silence and the Last Post was played during a solemn and moving ceremony.
Both teams stood to attention out on the field as spectators also paid their respect.

The New Zealand and Australian national anthems were played as the lights remained dimmed.
The players from both teams ran out through a joint banner once the ceremony concluded.
