A man has been arrested after the body of a 70-year-old was found in Ballarat on Monday morning.
The death is one of two separate cases being investigated by Victorian homicide detectives on Monday, after the body of man in his twenties was discovered in Glenroy, in Melbourne’s north, when police were conducting a welfare check.

The 70-year-old man was found dead at a home on Wensleydale Drive in Alfredton, a quiet suburb in Ballarat’s west, after police were called to reports of a disturbance at the property just before 9am.
A second man – believed to be in his thirties – was arrested at the scene and is being interviewed by police.
“The exact circumstances surrounding the man’s death are yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing,” Victoria Police said in a statement.
It is not yet known whether the men were known to each other.

Four hours earlier, at 4.40am, a man in his twenties was found dead at a home on Mitchell Street in Glenroy, in Melbourne’s north. Officers discovered his body after a welfare check.
Investigations into both deaths are ongoing. Police are asking the public to contact Crime Stoppers if they know any more about either incident.
