Rajasthan Royals’ teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi capped off a dream IPL 2026 campaign by sweeping the season-end awards, but the 15-year-old’s final message to rivals may have been the most ominous takeaway from the ceremony.
Sooryavanshi walked away with four of the biggest individual honours of the season, winning the Most Valuable Player award, Emerging Player of the Season, Super Striker of the Season and Super Sixes of the Season after a record-breaking campaign that established him as one of the most feared batters in the tournament.

Representing Rajasthan Royals, the left-hander tore apart bowling attacks across the competition, taking on some of the biggest names in world cricket with remarkable fearlessness. His explosive approach helped him finish as the Orange Cap winner with a staggering 776 runs from 16 innings, while his 72 sixes were the most by any batter this season.
Sooryavanshi’s heroics powered Rajasthan Royals to Qualifier 2, where their campaign eventually ended against Gujarat Titans. Along the way, the teenager shattered several records and came within touching distance of breaking Chris Gayle’s iconic 30-ball century record.
Speaking after collecting the awards, Sooryavanshi admitted he was already feeling the weight of expectations but promised to come back stronger next year.
“It feels good. But I’m feeling pressure because I have come here for the interview. I’ll try to work hard and improve my performance next season. I try to back my game and if first ball is in my area, I will go all out and try to play in that way,” Sooryavanshi said.
The young batter also reflected on the lessons he learned during Rajasthan’s playoff run, saying he had developed a better understanding of match situations and handling pressure.
“I learnt how to play in pressure games. You can’t play in a single way. You have to play according to what the team needs and what the situation demands. I learnt it from the playoffs. The focus is on that.”
However, it was his closing remark that served as a warning to opposition teams. Despite dominating the tournament and sweeping the major awards, Sooryavanshi insisted that fitness remains the biggest area for improvement in his game.
“If I have to play for a long time, I have to save myself from injury. I have to work on my fitness now,” he added.
For a player who already finished as the league’s leading run-scorer, most destructive six-hitter and MVP at just 15 years of age, the prospect of an even fitter and more complete Vaibhav Sooryavanshi next season is a daunting thought for bowlers across the IPL.
