Shocking video has emerged of a man carrying a knife while pacing the halls of a Melbourne shopping centre.
Police were called to the Forest Hill shopping centre on Canterbury Road just before 12:00pm on Thursday, following reports that a man was allegedly carrying a weapon walking inside the complex.
A witness told 3AW that the man was spotted outside Coles supermarket.
A man has been spotted with a knife at Forest Hill Shopping Centre.
“There’s a gentleman outside Coles supermarket with headphones that was pacing up and down near the escalators there with a knife,” he told 3AW.
He said the knife allegedly carried by the man looked like a butcher’s boning knife.
Victoria Police said the Box Hill man, 30, was arrested and transported to hospital for assessment and further interviews.
No-one was injured or threatened at the shopping centre.
