Some of Australia’s biggest names will today bare the freezing cold as they plunge into an ice bath with thousands of eyes on them at the MCG.
It’s ‘Big Freeze’ day on King’s Birthday as the 12th annual FightMND fundraiser will draw a crowd of nearly 100,000 people donned out in their light blue beanies, creating a sea of blue around the ‘G ahead of the Pies and Demons clash.
But the real spectacle will come before.
From 2pm, 10 brave Australians will slide into an ice bath as part of the fundraiser for FightMND – a charity started by the late Neale Daniher, which has raised over $115m for motor neurone disease research.
Daniher passed away in May after a 13-year battle with what he called “the beast”, but his legacy lives on, and today is expected to be the biggest fundraiser yet.
Which brave Aussies are sliding into the ice today?
