Jason Segel has predicted he’ll have a “moody, creative, puppet-y kid”.
The 46-year-old actor is engaged to Kayla Radmoski, and opened up to People about his family plans for the future at Apple TV’s Shrinking Emmy FYC event in Los Angeles on Saturday (06.06.26).
In a chat with the outlet, Jason was asked if he hopes to have children with his other half, to which he said: “Yeah. I’m going to have a real weird kid. It’ll be great. Yeah, I’ll have a moody, creative, puppet-y kid.”
Jason also said planning for the upcoming nuptials is “going great”, adding: “I’m with the best person in the world.”
Kayla announced the pair’s engagement in June 2025, as she shared snaps of the proposal and wrote: “FOREVER YES!”
She also called it the “best day of my life”.
In an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live! earlier this year, Jason shared how he had planned the elaborate proposal – with the sole intention of making Kayla “lose it”.
He said: “My measure of this, if I had done it right, was if she burst into tears, which is a high mark. I wanted her to cry real hard. I wanted it to be the best moment of her life.”
He pulled out all the stops by popping the question in Huntington Gardens in California, after telling Kayla they were attending a “donor dinner”.
It was the location the pair had an “early date”, and he decided to propose in front of a Greek statue – which was at the end of an aisle covered in rose petals.
Kayla didn’t think the romantic setting was for her when they arrived, telling Jason: “Aw, someone must have just gotten married here.”
The Shrinking star continued: “I said, ‘Yeah, this is the love statue. Close your eyes, make a wish.’ And while our eyes were closed, I got down on my knee, and I proposed.”
At that moment, a quartet began playing the Beauty and the Beast song Tale as Old as Time – from Kayla’s “favourite movie”.
He laughed: “She lost it!”
Jason had also designed a special ring himself to propose to Kayla.
