Actor Katrina Kaif is reportedly gearing up for her return to acting after embracing motherhood, and the star may be looking beyond the big screen for her next project. A source close to the development told India Today that Katrina has resumed reading scripts and is carefully evaluating potential projects before making her comeback.
“Katrina Kaif is back to reading scripts after embracing motherhood recently. The actress is reportedly planning to return to a film set by the second half of 2027 and is actively looking for the right script, something that is worth her time. For the same, she seems interested in exploring streaming projects that could provide better opportunities for actors,” the source shared.

The insider added that Katrina is in no rush to sign a project and is keen on finding a role that aligns with her current priorities as both an actor and a mother.
If discussions materialise, the project could mark Katrina’s debut in the streaming space. While several Bollywood stars have successfully transitioned between theatrical releases and OTT originals in recent years, Katrina has so far stayed away from long-format digital storytelling.
A return after a long break
The actor was last seen in Merry Christmas (2024) alongside Vijay Sethupathi. While she has maintained a relatively low profile since then, speculation around her next move has remained high among fans.
Married to actor Vicky Kaushal since 2021, Katrina recently embraced motherhood after years as one of Bollywood’s most successful and bankable stars. She is best known for films like Welcome (2007), Race (2008), Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011), Ek Tha Tiger (2012) and Tiger Zinda Hai (2017).
