A fresh controversy has emerged over the UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2026, with the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), the student wing of the Congress party, raising concerns over alleged irregularities and a possible paper leak.

The organisation has called for an immediate clarification from the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and demanded an impartial investigation into the matter.

CLAIM OF MATCHING QUESTIONS WITH COACHING MATERIAL

NSUI National President Vinod Jakhar has alleged that 82 of the 100 questions asked in the UPSC Prelims 2026 closely matched study material prepared by coaching institute Anantam IAS.

According to him, several questions not only mirrored the content of the notes but also resembled their wording and presentation.

Jakhar further claimed that the notes in question were modified after the examination and that the dates associated with the material were allegedly altered. He said these developments have raised suspicions about possible collusion between coaching institutes and the examination process.

NSUI DEMANDS TRANSPARENT INVESTIGATION

Calling the matter serious, the NSUI has decided to write to the UPSC seeking a detailed explanation. The organisation has urged the Commission to conduct a transparent and fair inquiry into the allegations and issue a clarification to address concerns among aspirants.

The UPSC has not issued any official statement on the allegations so far.
