One of Australia’s big four banks will introduce Saturday trading hours for nearly 30 branches across the country.
On Monday, ANZ announced its plan to extend Saturday trading hours to 27 branches in high-demand locations from June 27.
ANZ Australia Retail group executive Pedro Redia said the move would create a “big difference” for families and professionals who find themselves tied up during the week.
“For many customers, including young professionals, families and small business owners, having a local branch open on a Saturday makes a big difference,” Mr Redia said.
“This is about making banking fit around our customers’ lives – not the other way around.

“By opening more branches on Saturdays, we’re giving customers more time to talk to us in person about what really matters to them, without the pressure of squeezing it into a busy weekday.
“This extension will make it easier for customers to visit a branch, sit down with our specialist teams, and make important financial decisions at a time that better suits them.”
Branches open on Saturdays will offer services including home loans, relationship banking and specialist support, but over-the-counter services such as deposits and withdrawals will not be available.
Victoria is home to the most branches trading on Saturdays with 14 locations, including Chadstone, Bourke St Home, Richmond, Box Hill, and Epping.
Six NSW branches – including Bankstown, Eastgardens, Rouse Hill, and Macarthur Square – will also open on Saturday, along with two each in Queensland, South Australia, and Western Australia.
The ACT’s Gungahlin branch will also join the list.
