West Coast AFLW star Courtney Rowley has taken to social media to seemingly ‘hard launch’ her relationship with fellow young Eagle Tom Gross.
An Instagram carousel posted by Rowley on Sunday included a photo of Gross cuddled up to a golden retriever, and the second-year Eagle commented a pair of love hearts on the post.
Several of Rowley’s AFLW teammates — including superstar Ella Roberts and co-captains Bella Lewis and Charlie Thomas — also left messages of support in the comments.
Rowley joined the Eagles in 2021 and has gone on to play 36 games across five seasons with the club, including eight last year as they fell just short of what would have been a first AFLW finals appearance.
Drafted out of Victoria in 2024, Gross featured at AFL level eight times in his first year at the top level and broke into West Coast’s side for their final game before a bye last weekend, a one-point loss to North Melbourne.
Romantic links between AFL and AFLW players at the same club are not unheard of, with Richmond pair Monique Conti and Rhyan Mansell among couples who have publicised their relationship.
West Coast superstar Harley Reid was previously in a relationship with Carlton’s Yasmin Duursma — the sister of his now-teammate Willem, North Melbourne’s Zane and Essendon’s Xavier — before they split in July of last year.
