Danielle Mitchell has shared a heartbreaking video of her cradling her stillborn daughter for the first and last time.

The Australian influencer, who lost her daughter 26 weeks into her pregnancy this week, shared a gut-wrenching video on Monday of her holding Maggie Jean while sitting on her hospital bed with husband Nathan.

The couple also have a young daughter named Bette.

The 32-year-old captioned the video: “Mummy, Daddy, and your big sister love you so much my sweet girl, I am so sorry things weren’t different for you, I wish I could have saved you.”

The influencer has been very open about her health issues, revealing to fans in May that her pregnancy could be at risk.

At 22 weeks pregnant, she posted an update: “I could just be carrying a small perfectly healthy baby, but hormonal and concerned.”

She continued: “They asked if anyone had spoken to me about my 20 week scan to which I found out my baby girl was measuring in the fifth percentile for size.

“They’ve referred me maternal fetal medicine, for complex imagining to ‘see what we are dealing with’. Hoping to rule everything out with Bub, and just hear that she is small.”

A week later, she shared another update in which she revealed that tests had confirmed the worst.

“Update on the complex imaging scan, with maternal fetal medicine, it’s worse than we could have expected,” she said.

On June 17, Ms Mitchell shared the ultimate heartbreaking news with fans.

“As a family have decided on a late term termination for medical reasons at 26 weeks pregnant, we have our date to stop her heart, and then 1-2 days later our date to induce labour.

“I’m so scared to go through labour, contractions, and pushing for our sleeping angel.

“It’s so hard to process that right now she is still moving around inside of me, and kicking around, we know this is right for our baby girl, she is very sick, and fighting every single day, she is not compatible with life, she has a chromosomal abnormality, and has major defects affecting 6 body systems, and even if by miracle she was to survive birth, all her major heart surgeries, the findings on her brain would mean she’d never walk, talk, eat or potentially breath on her own.

“We are at peace with knowing she won’t be fighting and suffering anymore.”

On Monday, she shared a video of her and her husband walking into hospital captioned: “Nothing can prepare you to walk into a hospital knowing you’ll be leaving your baby there after birthing her, coming home with nothing but keepsakes and a funeral to plan.”

The family has since seen an outpouring of love and support on social media, with users sending their best wishes.

“I have never thought about a stranger on the internet so much. Sending you so much love to you and your family,” one wrote.

Another said: “It’s the worst feeling you will ever experience. It’s hard but I promise you will get through it”.
