The partner of a WA-raised Brownlow medallist has shared a tragic family update.
Tayla Brown, who is in a long-term relationship with former Collingwood star Tom Mitchell, revealed her father Darren Brown has sadly passed away.
“There are simply no words to describe this kind of pain,” she wrote in a post to her 13,300 Instagram followers on Wednesday.
“Rest in peace Dad. I love you forever 🤍.”
Accompanying the heartbreaking announcement was an Instagram carousel containing eight photos of her late dad.
She included some throwback pictures of her as a child with her father, alongside photos of him with his grandchildren.
The post ended with a video of her father holding Ms Brown’s oldest child Jack during a birthday celebration.
Members from the footy community were quick to flood the post with support for her family during this difficult time.
Her partner Tom Mitchell commented a single red heart.
Fellow AFL WAGs were quick to send their love to the Melbourne-based mum, including Annalise Dalins, Monique Cripps, and Chloe Pink.
Friends of her late father shared their memories under the post, with one friend calling Darren “an absolutely beautiful human inside and out who loved you all so much”.
Darren’s wife Kim also shared a touching tribute to her late husband on Sunday, calling his death “sudden” and “unexpected”.
“Our hearts are broken into a million pieces,” she wrote.
Tayla has since shared details of her father’s funeral service to her social media, which will be held in Victoria next Tuesday.
The tragic family update sadly comes just three months after the couple welcomed the birth of their second son Max.
