Vivo has unveiled its latest foldable smartphone, the Vivo X Fold6, in China. This new model succeeds the X Fold5 and brings significant upgrades across the display, battery, cameras, and software. The device features a slim 4.4mm profile when unfolded, a 7,000mAh battery, a 200MP Zeiss-backed primary camera, and MediaTek’s latest flagship Dimensity 9500 Super processor. Currently, the Vivo X Fold6 is available for pre-orders in China, with sales set to begin on July 1. Details regarding its global or Indian launch have not been announced.

**Pricing and Availability**

The Vivo X Fold6 is priced starting at 7,999 yuan (approximately ₹1.1 lakh) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. The top-end 16GB + 1TB Professional Imaging Kit version is priced at 12,299 yuan (around ₹1.7 lakh). Sales in China will commence on July 1.

**Display**

The foldable smartphone boasts an 8.02-inch Samsung AMOLED inner display and a 6.51-inch BOE AMOLED cover screen. Both panels support an adaptive refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz, offer peak brightness of 5,000 nits, and are compatible with Dolby Vision. Vivo states that both displays also feature TÜV Rheinland Global Eye Protection 3.0 certification and can dim down to 1 nit for comfortable viewing in low-light conditions.

**Performance**

Under the hood, the Vivo X Fold6 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super Edition, built on a 3nm process, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. The phone is offered in configurations ranging from 12GB + 256GB to 16GB + 1TB. Vivo has also included a custom communication chip designed to improve network reception and wireless connectivity.

**Battery**

One of the standout features of the X Fold6 is its 7,000mAh battery, which utilizes fifth-generation silicon anode and third-generation semi-solid-state battery technology. The device supports 80W wired and 40W wireless charging, ensuring quick power replenishment.

**Camera System**

For photography enthusiasts, the Vivo X Fold6 is equipped with a 200MP Samsung HPB primary sensor featuring optical image stabilization and Zeiss T* coating. This is complemented by a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and support for a 200mm teleconverter, along with a 50MP ultra-wide camera. Both the inner and outer displays house 20MP selfie cameras, catering to high-quality self-portraits.

**Software and Features**

The device runs on OriginOS 6 Fold, based on Android 16. A new multitasking feature called Atomic Workbench allows users to run multiple apps simultaneously on the large inner display with drag-and-drop functionality between windows. The Vivo X Fold6 carries IP5X dust resistance and IPX8/IPX9 water resistance ratings. Vivo also claims the foldable can operate in temperatures as low as -20°C, aided by its new battery technology.

Although the X Fold6 is currently limited to China, it strengthens Vivo’s presence in the premium foldable segment with upgrades focused on battery capacity, camera hardware, and multitasking capabilities.
