Footage has captured the moment a police officer allegedly swore at and pushed a homeless man in Sydney’s west, prompting calls for the incident to be reviewed by police.

The video, shared to social media, captured an incident on High Street in Penrith on Tuesday afternoon.

A male police officer is captured allegedly pushing a man and saying “f**king go bro”.

“Get your things and leave now,” a female officer adds after the man goes back to his trolley of things.

The male officer says “thank you sir” as the man starts to walk away with his trolley before the officer grabs his arm and says “before you go what’s your name?”

A NSW Police spokesperson said they were aware of the video and body-worn footage from the officers has been reviewed.

“NSWPF is aware of a social media video circulating of an interaction between two police officers and a man in Penrith on Tuesday 23 June 2026,” the spokesperson told NewsWire.

“Body-worn vision captured by the two officers of the incident has been reviewed by the Commander,” the spokesperson said.

The spokesperson said the two officers were on High Street for an unrelated matter when they say a man allegedly began behaving aggressively towards people before a business owner asked the man to leave.

The man allegedly failed to comply with a move-on direction but complied “following a further interaction with police”.

Melissa McIntosh on Sunday called for the matter to be reviewed.

“Many people have raised their concerns with me today about an incident involving a male police officer and a homeless man on High Street in Penrith,” Ms McIntosh wrote.

“I will provide an update to those who have contacted my office through email as soon as a response is received.

“Thank you for looking out for each other. On a broader matter, there’s too many people experiencing homelessness and doing it tough across our community.”
