A disgruntled holidaymaker turned to itching power in a battle against people getting up early to reserve sunbeds.

Tom Caunce, 31, from Southport wasn’t happy after seeing fellow tourists in Mallorca head down early to pool to leave their towel on a sunbed before heading back to bed, and he’s found an extreme way of tackling the problem, and shared the footage online.

As reported by the Mirror, he has targeted “repeat offenders”, and it’s something most people have experienced.

He said: “I think we’ve all experienced the frustration of trying to get a sunbed on holiday.

“Many of us have accepted the 6am wake-up call just to have a chance of getting a decent spot.

“On my last holiday, I decided enough was enough and that it was time for a bit of playful payback.”

For the first few days, he surveyed the situation, figuring out which guests had been repeatedly saving their spot.

He went down early, waiting for them to leave their towel, before sneaking downstairs to rub the itching power in.

When a man finally returned at 1.30pm, around 6 or 7 hours later, Tom saw him start scratching before jumping into the pool.

He recalled: “He picked up the white towel and used it to dry himself, and the small irritation seemed to turn into a full-body scratch.”

Tom insisted he “couldn’t stop laughing”, and described the holidaymaker’s reaction as “priceless”.

The videos have gone viral, but social media uses are divided on the stunt.

Some of described it was “incredibly strange” and “not ok”, while others support his actions.

Someone else commented: “Oh, I love this! Just make sure you don’t do it to people who are just swimming and not reserving.”
