Jerry O’Connell is attracted to Rebecca Romijn’s “funky” body odour.
The 52-year-old actor mocked his actress wife – with whom he has 17-year-old twins Dolly and Charlie – for her use of crystal deodorants because he insisted they “don’t work” but he then admitted he doesn’t mind because he loves her natural smell.
Speaking on the Thanks Dad with Ego Nwodim podcast, he said: “No offense to the roll-on deodorant industry —I don’t think it works as well as spray.
“Well, I have to tell you, my wife, Rebecca Romijn, rubs crystals under her arms.
“And I’m here to tell everyone, it doesn’t work.
“Now I don’t mind the way my wife — it doesn’t offend me. I actually, ah — this is gonna get a little dirty — I kind of like it when I can smell my wife’s body odour.
“It’s kind of like, yeah — she’s alive, we’re alive, we’re living.
“It’s, like, a little kicking and like, it’s a little funky town.”
Meanwhile, Jerry and Rebecca – who married in 2007 recently revealed they have maintained separate finances throughout their relationship, but pay into a “community pot” for parenting expenses.
Appearing on Radio Andy, host Andy Cohen turned the conversation towards money by describing Rebecca as the breadwinner in the household since Jerry’s run co-hosting The Talk ended last year, and she said: “We keep our money completely separate … There’s, like, a community pot.”
The X-Men star went on to explain the couple made the decision to keep their money separate right at the start of their marriage, saying: “That’s like one of the first conversations you have when you decide to enter into a legal agreement together.”
Jerry also pointed out how much money they put into their “community pot” varies and depends on how much work is coming in.
He said: “I have to say, we actually throttle how much money we put into that account sometimes,” and his wife added: “The one who’s not working gets a little bit of a break and the one who is working puts in a little more. And we really tag-team with work.”
Rebecca revealed the couple’s work also depends on childcare because they promised to always make sure one of them was home to care for their daughters.
She said: “We also decided when our girls were born that one of us would always stay home with our daughters. So, no one else was ever going to raise them besides the parents.”
