Nina Dobrev has likened kissing Aaron Paul to “making out with [her] brother”.
The 37-year-old actress stars alongside Aaron, 46, in The Get Out, the new crime thriller that also stars Russell Crowe, Luke Evans, Teresa Palmer, Danny Zovatto and Josh McConville, and Nina admits that their on-screen love scenes were awkward to film.
During an appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark, Nina shared: “Aaron and I have known each other — him and his wife and I met, I think in 2011? So we’ve been friends for a while.”
Asked if she found it awkward or weird to kiss a long-time friend, Nina replied: “Very.”
Kelly Ripa compared Nina kissing Aaron to someone else kissing a family member. But the actress took the idea one step further.
The actress said: “My brother. Yeah. It was like making out with my brother. Don’t recommend it.”
Nina subsequently clarified that the awkwardness wasn’t linked to Aaron’s performance.
She shared: “Although Aaron … not to … he was great … that’s not … you get it!”
Nina previously explained that she tries to surround herself with “goal-orientated” friends.
The actress revealed that she needs friends who “stimulate” and “push” her to achieve her big ambitions in life.
She explained to E! News: “[A] big one is surrounding yourself with good people and people that you want to succeed with, people that stimulate you, and people that will push you to make sure that you are reaching your goals.
“They say that the first five people that you’re the closest with are a reflection of you. And if you’re surrounding yourself around people that are unmotivated and lazy, who aren’t goal oriented, it’ll be really hard for you to stay on track as well.”
Nina’s family emigrated from Bulgaria to Toronto in Canada when she was just two years old and they struggled financially for years.
The actress witnessed her parents work extremely hard in order to improve their lives and she’s always been determined to follow suit.
She previously shared: “We didn’t come from money. In the beginning, we lived with another family in a one-bedroom apartment. My parents had to work really hard.”
