Millions of EPFO members will have to wait a little longer to access online claim services. The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has extended the outage of its online portal as it continues work on a major system upgrade. According to the latest update, services are now expected to resume at 12.00 am on July 2, 2026.

MAINTENANCE PERIOD EXTENDED ONCE AGAIN

EPFO is carrying out a planned database consolidation and software upgrade to improve its claims processing system. The organisation says the exercise is aimed at making its services quicker, more efficient and more secure for members.

The maintenance was initially scheduled to end on June 28, with online services expected to return on June 29. However, the timeline has now been revised once again. The latest notice says the maintenance work will continue until 11.59 pm on July 1, and services are expected to be restored from 12.00 am on July 2.

ONLINE CLAIM SERVICES REMAIN UNAVAILABLE

As part of the upgrade, members will not be able to submit fresh claims through the EPFO portal during the maintenance period. The organisation has also temporarily stopped the processing of claims while the migration work is underway.

EPFO has clarified that members who had already submitted their claims before the maintenance began do not need to file them again. Those claims will be processed once the upgraded system becomes operational.

WHY IS EPFO UPGRADING ITS SYSTEM?

According to EPFO, the upgrade is intended to improve the overall experience for members. By consolidating its database and updating its software applications, the retirement fund body hopes to speed up claim processing, improve service delivery and strengthen the security of its systems.

The organisation has apologised for the temporary disruption and thanked members for their patience while the work is being completed.

WHERE TO SEEK HELP

Members who need assistance during the outage can contact the EPFO call centre by dialling 14470.

If the migration work is completed as scheduled, all online claim-related services are expected to become available again from 12.00 am on July 2, 2026.
