Salman Khan roots for Sohail as he storms into Alliance as wild card contestant

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has cheered for his brother, actor Sohail Khan, after the latter entered Prime Video’s reality show Alliance as a wild card contestant. Backing Sohail’s reality show debut, Salman shared a brief message on Instagram.

Sharing a promo of Sohail’s entry into the reality show, Salman wrote, “Best wishes, brother (sic).”

Before Salman, their sister Arpita Khan had also shown her support for Sohail’s entry into the competitive reality game. Sohail is not the only new face on the show, with Nigerian content creator Agu Stanley also joining Alliance as a wild card contestant. Hosted by actor Kunal Kemmu, the show began streaming on Prime Video on June 26.

Before meeting the other contestants, Sohail warned them not to mess with him, even if he came across as a soft person. He said a lot had happened in his life, but he did not like to cry over it and preferred to move on. He also said people think he is soft-spoken and keeps to himself, but warned them not to provoke him or they would see a different side of Sohail Khan.

Explaining why he chose to do the show, Sohail said he wanted fans to see his real self. “No tags, no baggage. When you watch this show, you’ll see the real Sohail Khan,” he said.

Sohail also told host Kunal Kemmu that Alliance was a significant step in his career because he would have to step out of his comfort zone. His fellow contestants welcomed his entry. Meanwhile, actor Kushal Tandon said he was glad to be on the same show that Sohail had chosen for his reality television debut.

Alliance revolves around high-stakes psychological warfare, shifting loyalties and strategic manipulation. The contestants on the show include Rivva Kishan, Mini Mathur, Nikhil Chinapa, Kushal Tandon, Arslan Goni, Zaid Darbar, Daisy Shah, Ruhee Dosani, Niti Taylor, Payal Dhare (Gaming), Sabby Suri, Armaan Khera, Delbar Arya and Dollyy Javved. Actor Ravi Kishan recently left the competition because of professional commitments. Vanshaj Singh, on the other hand, has been eliminated.

Stanley’s entry has also drawn attention. Known for his fluency in Hindi, observations on Indian life and relatable humour, he has built a large fan base among Indian audiences. He was recently featured in Anurag Kashyap’s film Bandar.

New episodes of Alliance drop daily on Amazon Prime Video at 12 noon.
