A potential airbag defect has led to the recall of nearly 21,000 Land Rovers across Australia.
An airbag corrosion issue, affecting the driver’s side clock spring, has been discovered to increase resistance in the airbag circuit.
This means in the event of an accident, the airbag may not deploy and could “increase the risk of injury or death”, a product recall notice said.
The thousands of affected vehicles include the Defender, Discovery and Land Rover models manufactured between 2019 and 2026.
Those who own an affected model will be contacted by Jaguar Land Rover in writing and will be asked to contact their nearest authorised dealership to have the work carried out, free of charge.
