Sonam Kapoor did the most Sonam Kapoor thing once again. The actor, known for her impeccable sartorial choices, made an unconventional fashion statement at her sister Anshula Kapoor’s mehendi ceremony.
For the special occasion, Sonam wore a button-down shirt, pairing it with a lungi and two dupattas. It may sound a bit unusual, but she carried off the look, and how.

There’s a lot to love about this ensemble by Punit Balana, starting with its striking pastel blue and vibrant green colour combination. The refreshing contrast is reminiscent of lush greenery set against a clear blue sky— a sight we can never get enough of.
Then come the silhouette and the design.
Sonam wore an oversized shirt featuring Punit Balana’s signature Noor Bagh print. A lungi adorned with the Chidiya Booti motif lent the outfit a traditional touch. Elevating this ethnic appeal were two dupattas – one in emerald green and the other in sophisticated slate blue – neatly pinned to each shoulder.
The layered styling added depth, drama and an intriguing edge to the ensemble.
A pair of statement earrings and chunky gold bangles completed her look. She kept her makeup minimal and styled her hair in a sleek bun, allowing the outfit and jewellery to take centre stage.
Sonam Kapoor has been absolutely acing sister-of-the-bride fashion. For another of Anshula Kapoor’s pre-wedding festivities, the actor and mother of one turned heads in a regal anarkali set paired with a Patiala salwar. The ensemble looked straight out of a royal portrait, and her statement Ganesha bag was another unmissable part of the look.
Anshula Kapoor, daughter of filmmaker Boney Kapoor andsister of actor Arjun Kapoor, is set to marry boyfriend Rohan Khattar on July 6in Mumbai.
