Hyderabad’s Uttam Kumar Reddy, the minister of irrigation, refuted Bharat Rashtra Samithi’s ( BRS ) claims that the Kannepalli pumphouse’s claim that there was a lot of water to be stored in Medigadda, Annaram, and Sundilla, claiming it was risky to store it in the three barrages.
The secretary stated in a press conference held at the Secretariat that turning on the Kannepalli pumphouse will launch water into the Annaram storm, which has several issues with its base.
He claimed that until extensive repairs are finished, the National Dam Safety Authority ( NDSA ) has advised against holding water in any barrages of the Kaleshwaram project.
He claimed that North Telangana would not be currently dealing with water doubt because the past BRS authorities had altered the site’s unique layout for political and commercial gain.
He claimed that the earth beneath Block 7 of the Medigadda storm had sunk after it had been washed ahead. Similar flaws have also been discovered at the Annaram and Sundilla barrages, and storing water there was placed the towns that are nearby in danger, he said.
By this point in the upcoming season, the government has begun a significant maintenance program. Building may begin as soon as the floodwater disappears, according to engineers, who were working on the patterns.
The state government is developing a new initiative to allow for the pumping of water from Tummidihatti in order to protect farmers while the Kaleshwaram is being repaired, he added.
Kannepalli pumps function is required for KTR.
BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR ) demanded that Telangana’s Congress government start operating the Kannepalli pump immediately to prevent a looming drought earlier in the day.
KTR reported that 26 of Telangana’s 33 districts are currently experiencing drought, and that the government has failed to make the most of the available facilities in Kaleshwaram.
He criticized the police for constantly preventing the BRS delegation from traveling from Hyderabad to Kannepalli, claiming that the journey, which should have taken four hours, was delayed by walls and restrictions imposed at various locations.
He warned that the BRS may grow more vocal if the state didn’t follow through.
