A man has been beaten with a golf club in a shocking road rage attack in Victoria.
Police say the 61-year-old’s vehicle was rammed by another car several times while driving along the Melton Highway near Sydenham about 12pm on Saturday.
After the man pulled over, the driver of the other car hopped out of his vehicle and approached while armed with a golf club.
Police say the other driver struck the victim in the leg and smashed his windscreen before driving off.
The 61-year-old man was taken to hospital with severe bruising and his undriveable vehicle was towed from the scene.
Images of a man seated inside a gold-coloured Nissan Patrol have been released by police, who say he can help with their inquiries.
He is described as Pacific Islander, 180cm tall and heavy set. Police say he was wearing a red long-sleeve top, dark-coloured shorts and thongs.
People who witnessed the incident are being urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
