Influencer and model Nara Smith has shared a vulnerable behind-the-scenes look at her family life after her two-year-old daughter was diagnosed with cancer.
The 24-year-old lifestyle content creator, who is married to model Lucky Blue Smith, took to social media to share a life update with her millions of followers two days after announcing her “little warrior girl” Whimsy has cancer.
Smith posted several photos to Instagram that showed how the family are navigating Whimsy’s battle with the disease, who has now had her brown hair shaved off.
One photo showed her bald head adorned with colourful gems; another image was of her hair clippings, with another photo showing the family at a hospital getting scans done.
“Sharing something this vulnerable wasn’t an easy decision, but seeing every message, prayer, story of a similar experience and kindness has made it a little easier,” Smith wrote in the Instagram caption.
“To every family or parent walking through something heavy right now, we’re thinking of you too.”
Other photos included an image of a book titled Princess Lily and the Hair Fairy, Whimsy playing with her younger sibling, Fawnie and Smith cuddling Whimsy.
Last week, Smith announced her daughter’s cancer diagnosis on TikTok and Instagram, where she has a combined following of more than 16M fans, but did not specify the current condition of Whimsy’s health.
The Smith’s took their second youngest daughter to an emergency department late last year after discovering “something suspicious” on her body but were advised to see a paediatrician.
Unfortunately, the cancer had already spread, and little Whimsy needed to start chemotherapy “immediately”.
Smith is known for her trad wife lifestyle, a term often used to describe influencers who share content about homemaking, and her videos of cooking meals while wearing extravagant outfits have millions of views.
Smith and Lucky Blue have four kids together: Rumble Honey, 5, Slim Easy, 4, Whimsy Lou, 2, and Fawnie Golden, 9 months.
