John Stamos will “never” take part in Dancing with the Stars.

The Full House actor has revealed that he urged ABC to stop approaching him about the show because he has been asked to do it “every single season”.

Speaking on The Bobbycast podcast, Stamos said: “I said, ‘Don’t ever ask me again.’ I’m never gonna do that show.”

When podcast host Bobby Bones – who won the 27th season of the show back in 2018 – said he would “learn so much” about himself if he did Dancing with the Stars, Stamos shut him down and suggested he would prefer not to risk injury by signing up.

He said: “I just never… What makes that show good is people suffering and looking like fools. They’re breaking their feet, calluses… I don’t want that.”

Although he has ruled out an appearance on Dancing with the Stars, Stamos is keen to take on “challenging” acting roles and said this was a major influence in his decision to sign up for season two of the dark Netflix drama The Hunting Wives.

The 62-year-old star said earlier this year: “People trust me. I’ve been coming to their homes for 30, 40 years or whatever. It’s like, ‘Okay, we’ll take this ride with him’, and then it’s like, ‘Oh no, oh no, it’s getting weird. It’s getting weird.’

“I just did Hunting Wives, which is a pretty dark, wild show.”

Meanwhile, Stamos previously recalled how his eight-year-old son Billy – who he has with his wife Caitlin McHugh – is using his father’s fame to impress girls.

He recalled to E! News: “He said, ‘Dad, we had to write down all our things.’

“The girl next to him put Fuller House. [Billy said] ‘You know, that’s my dad. My dad’s on that show. And he plays Uncle Jesse.’ “

John laughed: “He’s using it with the girls.”

The Grandfathered star went on to admit that his son likes to use catchphrases from the sitcom – which aired on ABC from 1987 to 1995 – to “mock” his dad.

He told the outlet: “He watches Full House, but he watches it to mock me.

“Because I’ll be like, ‘Go put your Legos away.’”
