A red alert is in place in Delhi and parts of Haryana, warning of thunderstorms, lightning, gusty winds of up to 60 kph and heavy rain over the next two to three hours. The warning covers all districts of Delhi, including Central, New Delhi, North, South, East, West, North West, North East, South East, South West and Shahdara.
In Haryana, the red alert has been issued for Faridabad, Karnal, Palwal, Panchkula, Panipat, Sonipat and Yamunanagar. The IMD advised residents to stay indoors where possible and avoid open areas during thunderstorms.
