Kuniko Limited has seized a controlling 51 per cent stake in the high-grade Commonwealth-Silica Hill gold-silver-copper project in New South Wales more than 12 months ahead of schedule after completing the initial A$1.5 million expenditure commitment under its earn-in agreement with Impact Minerals with the company now takingoperational control of its flagship asset.

Having taken up position at the helm, the company believes Commonwealth could host a far larger district-scale mineral system than previously recognised. The Commonwealth and Silica Hill deposits sit just 200 metres apart at the heart of Kuniko’s flagship project in New South Wales’ prolific Lachlan Fold Belt.

About 100 kilometres north of Orange, the project is in the heart of what can only be described as elephant country for minerals. It lies along trend from Alkane Resources’ giant Boda-Kaiser porphyry copper-gold discovery, while Newmont’s Cadia-Ridgeway and Evolution Mining’s Cowal and Northparkes operations are also part of the district.

Modern geological, geophysical and drilling programs completed since September 2025 have transformed Kuniko’s understanding of the project. What began as a straightforward resource expansion program has evolved into something much bigger, with management believing it could host a far broader mineral system than previously recognised.

‘To reach the 51% ownership milestone is a clear demonstration of our confidence in the Project and its significant growth potential.’

That growing confidence appears to justify the company’s decision to fast-track its ownership. A phase-one drilling campaign delivered a 100 per cent hit rate and discovered the Silica Hill mineralised system beyond the existing mineralised footprint.

The standout hole returned a bonanza 0.5-metre interval grading a stunning 347 grams per tonne (g/t) gold equivalent, comprised of 20,603g/t silver and 27g/t gold.

The broader Stage 1 exploration program also outlined an approximately five-kilometre prospective mineralised corridor by combining MobileMT survey results, geochemistry and drilling data. It identified multiple high-priority drill targets within one kilometre of the existing project, including the historic Welcome Jack, Walls and Stringers workings, which extend across a two-kilometre trend and have seen little modern drilling.

Together they provide several walk-up targets capable of expanding the project’s highly prospective five-square-kilometre mineralised system.

Management believes the results have laid the foundations for the project’s next phase of growth.

Kuniko Limited managing director Maja McGuire said: “With majority ownership now secured, Kuniko is well positioned to continue driving exploration success at Commonwealth, with a clear pathway towards increasing its interest to 70% while advancing drilling, resource growth and regional exploration activities to unlock the considerable potential of this highly prospective gold-silver system.”

Now, attention turns back to the drill bit.

Phase-two drilling is underway, with assay results expected to feed into an updated mineral resource estimate targeted by the end of 2026. Kuniko will continue testing high-priority regional targets while completing a regional targeting review integrating geological, geochemical, gravity and MobileMT datasets. It also plans to evaluate additional opportunities along the approximately five-kilometre corridor.

The company can increase its interest to 70 per cent by spending a further A$1.5 million on exploration over the next two years. Management expects to complete the Stage 2 earn-in through the current work program.

Upon reaching a 70 per cent interest, the parties will enter a formal joint venture. Under that arrangement, Impact Minerals will retain a 30 per cent interest free-carried through to a decision to mine before choosing whether to contribute its pro-rata share of future project expenditure or dilute its interest.

Commonwealth is interpreted as a precious-metals-rich polymetallic volcanogenic massive sulphide system, while nearby Silica Hill hosts an epithermal stockwork vein system with high-grade silver mineralisation.

Management’s decision to continue earning towards a 70 per cent interest reflects the confidence generated by the Stage 1 exploration program. Impact Minerals previously defined historical JORC (2012) inferred mineral resource estimates containing about 88,800 ounces of gold and 3.3 million ounces of silver.

The resources remain open along strike and at depth, providing what the company believes is considerable scope for further growth. Phase 2 drilling is designed to validate, update and expand the known mineralised footprint.

Having gone from being a guest at the party to running the show, Kuniko is now firmly in the driver’s seat at Commonwealth-Silica Hill. Every major exploration program has expanded the opportunity and management believes the project is only just getting started. With control secured and the drill bit still turning, the next task is no longer proving the system exists—it is discovering just how big it can become.
