Isla Fisher has admitted she’s “much stronger” than she thought she was.
The Australian actress has had a difficult few years following her split from Sacha Baron Cohen, the father of her three kids, in 2023 after 13 years of marriage.
However, in an interview with E! News, Isla said her experiences over the past few years have forced her to realise her own strength.
She said: “I would say that I’m much stronger than I thought I was.”
At the premiere of her new movie Spa Weekend in Las Vegas, Isla paid tribute to her female friends, as she said she’s more than grateful for her pals.
She continued: “My friendships, my female friendships have really been instrumental to me discovering or recovering that strength.
“And so I’m incredibly grateful.”
Isla and Sacha finalised their divorce in 2025, and the mother-of-three spoke about the split in an interview with The Sunday Times, as she called it “the most difficult thing I’ve been through”.
She added: “I’ve learned so much about myself in the process. I never imagined my family being separated, but we are committed and loving parents.
“Kids are the most important thing, and you want them to really feel safe and loved. We are building a new, healthy version of what our family looks like and putting as much care and love into it as possible.”
Following the newspaper chat, a source close to Borat star he had “hit the roof” when he’d read the interview – especially it had come shortly after Rebel Wilson claimed Sacha had tried to “bully” her on the set of 2016 movie Grimsby.
A source claiming to be close to Cohen said: “This comment left Sacha furious. It felt like a blatant statement that she was on side with Rebel, the whole women sticking together thing was obvious and that is what he drew from the situation and it has made him very cross and upset.
“Sacha was fuming when he read that. He felt utterly betrayed.”
