Demi Lovato has “never been so happy” in her life.
The 33-year-old singer-and-actress celebrated her first wedding anniversary with husband Jordan ‘Jutes’ Lutes in May, and she admitted the “safe space” she has found in her relationship with the producer has helped her find true contentment in her life.
Demi told People magazine: “Communications [is the] biggest and the most important thing in a relationship.
“When you’re able to communicate with each other what you need, what you want, it creates a safe space for the two of you to share your feelings with one another.
“My love for Jordan grows every single day, and I’ve never been so happy in my life. So I think communication is a big part of that.”
This isn’t the first time the Confident singer has reflected on how her love for Jutes, 35, has grown since they married.
She previously told E! News: “I really thought on my wedding day—that was maxed out, like the most amount of love that you’ll ever feel for a person, and then time goes by and you just form this connection that is so intimate and so fulfilling that you just fall completely more and more in love.”
Demi said the secret to their strong bond is simply having fun together.
The singer explained: “We laugh, we have so much fun together. We stay up late laughing until we’re crying and it just feels like a giant sleepover with your best friend that you happen to be really, really attracted to.”
Demi also opened up about her tour preparations.
She explained: “I feel like feeling fresh just helps me show up as my best self, whether I’m in the studio or I’m about to perform in front of thousands of people.
“It’s about those get-ready moments when I’m about to step on stage or in the studio or wherever, walk in the room that can make all the difference and when you feel fresh.”
Meanwhile, Jutes hailed Demi his “soulmate” in a heartfelt anniversary tribute.
Alongside a series of throwback photos, including some from their wedding day, Jutes posted on Instagram: “Happy one year anniversary to my wifey! It’s crazy to think a year has gone by already, and somehow I love you even more than I did a year ago. You’re SO clearly my soulmate and the best friend I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to see you and devour your face. I love you beyond words baby [heart emoji] (sic)”
In response, Demi – who was away from her husband due to her US tour commitments – said: “happy anniversary my love, u r the best thing that’s ever happened to me!!!
“i love u angel!!!! (sic)”
