Forget grabbing a postcard to remind you of home — this Hollywood star has taken things a step further.

Australian actor Dominic Purcell has shown he’s not afraid to wear his hometown pride, unveiling a new tattoo tribute to the Western Sydney suburb he grew up in.

The 56-year-old Prison Break star shared an image of the newest addition to his back, which stretches across his shoulder blades, in an Instagram post on Sunday.

“Them that know . . . Penrith ‘the RIFF’, NSW AUSTRALIA 70s — 80s,” he said to his 1.7 million followers.

“Always proud of what made me.”

The word RIFF, which is a known nickname for the Sydney suburb of Penrith, is seen across the actor’s back in bold block lettering.

The sizeable tribute was done by LA-based celebrity tattoo artist Jamie Gene Lopez, who’s list of A-list clients also includes Purcell’s step-daughter Miley Cyrus.

Notable Aussies were quick to flood the comments of the Prison Break star’s tattoo reveal, singing praises for the actor’s hometown pride.

“What a tat,” former cricketer David Warner wrote, while three-time Olympic gold medallist Jess Fox added: “Yeah the RIFF.”

“Where legends are born,” said Love Simon star Keiynan Lonsdale, who also hails from Penrith.

“All the best people come from Western Sydney,” MAFS star Domenica Calarco chimed in.

Even NRL team the Penrith Panthers jumped into the conversation, calling the star “the GOAT” for his permanent tribute to the NSW suburb .

It wasn’t just the Aussies praising the work, however, with Purcell’s wife Tish Cyrus-Purcell writing that she was “obsessed” with her husband’s new ink.

While it’s clear the Aussie has much pride for Penrith, he didn’t always live there.

Dominic was born in England in February 1970. His family moved to Australia when the actor was just two.

He spent most of the 1970s and 1980s living in the NSW suburb of Penrith before heading across the country to Perth for tertiary schooling.

The star attended the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, following in the footsteps of other iconic Aussie actors including Hugh Jackman.

Purcell first made his TV debut on Home And Away in the late ‘90s, before gaining international recognition for his performances in Prison Break and Mission: Impossible 2.
