Hyderabad: At English and Foreign Languages University ( EFLU) in the early hours of August 14, a fight broke out between Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad ( ABVP ) and the National Students ‘ Union of India ( NSUI), which resulted in injuries for students and counter-First Information Reports ( FIRs ).
On August 13, ABVP protested at the Mahlaq Bai Chanda ( MBCH) hostel for women over a student being denied access to a friend’s room, according to sources.
NSUI people were also present at the opposition, including Student Union Vice President Sonu Raj, who is accused of being abused and given caste insults by ABVP people. Deputy Proctor Upender Gundala reportedly called the police after NSUI people confronted them over the matter and demanded that they refrain from filing a problem.
ABVP people, angry with the problem, allegedly harassed NSUI individuals in the hostel when NSUI students left the police place.
Eventually, around 3 am on Friday, ABVP people entered the Basheer people’s dormitory with rods and liquor bottles and chased NSUI people through the rooms.
Numerous students suffered severe injuries to their faces, shoulders, arms, backs, and necks, according to a speech from NSUI. Individuals who sought refuge in bathrooms were dragged away and harassed despite bleeding. According to the speech, bag was intentionally thrown from windows and into corridors, and their apps were also purposefully smashed.
One student reportedly received a beer bottle on the nose, and another was hit with a bamboo rod. Additionally, sexual NSUI people were subjected to offensive and offensive remarks. All of this transpired in Upender Gundala’s appearance, according to NSUI, who is also the dormitory governor.
Nikhil Kumar, a NSUI member, reported one complaint to the Bharatiya Nyaya Santa ( BNS), and a case was registered under sections 118 ( 2 ) (voluntarily causing grievous harm ), 324 ( 4 ) ( mischief ), 351 ( 3 ) ( criminal intimidation ), 79 ( intentional insult intended to cause a breach of peace ), 191 ( 3 ) ( rioting ), and 191 ( 3 ) ( joint legal liability for members of an unlawful assembly ).

In addition, ABVP has filed a police complaint alleging that about 20 NSUI employees entered the students ‘ rooms in Basheer Hostel at the same time ( 3 am on Friday ) and assaulted them.
A case has been registered under Sections 118 ( 1 ), 118 ( 1 ), 127 ( 2 ) ( wrongful confinement ), 333 ( house-trespass after preparing to cause hurt, assault, or wrongfully restrain someone ), 351 ( 3 ), and 191 ( 3 ), read with 190 BNS.
” ABVP has been standing with kids and offering support to individuals who have approached us with their problems for the past few weeks. We have regularly raised student issues and provided them with a place to go to seek justice and support. NSUI members stifled the opposition this night when students assembled for a relaxing demonstration. When their attempt to disrupt the demonstration failed, the situation changed dramatically the following evening and the following day,” according to a statement from the ABVP.
The ABVP has urged a thorough research into the affair, as well as strict administrative and legal action against the offenders.
Seven ABVP people and Sonu Raj officially called to the OU City Police Station on Friday and held it until late at night.
