A man was assaulted with an iron rod on a road in Karnataka’s Shivamogga district, leaving him seriously injured.
A video of the incident has gone viral on social media, showing the victim, Manjunath, lying on the road as the assault continues.
The accused is seen standing on him, attacking him with an iron rod, stomping on his head and later dragging him along the road. The video also shows Manjunath’s legs bleeding.

Another person recording the incident can be heard questioning the accused about why he was assaulting the man.
The accused has been identified as Raghavendra alias Apple Raghu and he attacked Manjunath allegedly under the influence of alcohol. Police are yet to ascertain the motive behind the attack.
A case has been registered in connection with the incident and Raghavendra has been arrested by the police.
