Aston Martin has unveiled the Valen, a limited-production V12 supercar developed by its bespoke Q by Aston Martin division. Revealed in Monterey, California, the Valen is claimed to be the world’s most powerful front-engined production car and the most powerful front-engined Aston Martin in the British marque’s 113-year history.

Power comes from a 5.2-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine producing 850bhp and 1,000Nm of torque from 2,500rpm. The engine is paired with an eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox, which gets revised shift strategies derived from Aston Martin’s Vantage GT4 racing programme. The Valen can accelerate from 0-100kmph in 3.0 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 214mph or 344kmph.

Aston Martin Valen: Lightweight construction and revised chassis

Aston Martin has focused heavily on reducing weight, with the Valen weighing up to 110kg less than the company’s existing core V12 platform. The weight reduction comes from extensive use of carbon fibre, aluminium, titanium and magnesium.

The Valen gets lightweight magnesium wheels as standard, while an optional lightweight package uses machined aluminium suspension components and titanium chassis bolts to save a further 16.9kg.

The supercar rides on Aston Martin-tuned Pirelli P Zero R tyres, with P Zero Winter 2 tyres also available. It also features Pirelli’s Cyber Tyre technology, which provides real-time tyre data to the car’s electronic stability control, ABS and traction control systems.

Aston Martin has also revised the steering, suspension, braking and electronic systems to give the Valen a more focused character than the standard V12 platform. It gets Sport, Sport+ and Track drive modes, with each mode altering throttle response and the car’s dynamic characteristics.

Braking duties are handled by 410mm front and 360mm rear carbon-ceramic brakes. The suspension features model-specific springs, helper springs and Bilstein DTX semi-active dampers, while the rear subframe is solid-mounted.

Aston Martin Valen: Dramatic design

The Valen gets a bespoke full-carbon-fibre body with a more aggressive interpretation of Aston Martin’s traditional front-engined design. Its styling is defined by slim, recessed headlamps, a sharply sculpted bonnet, a larger geometric grille and an angular front splitter.

The sides feature elongated functional vents and pronounced rear haunches, while stepped sills and vortex generators help manage airflow and reduce lift. At the rear, the Valen replaces the conventional rear window and boot lid with a solid tailgate incorporating an aerodynamic wing.

A full-width light bar sits beneath the rear section, while the exhaust system features four titanium tailpipes arranged in two upper and two lower outlets. The system uses lightweight 3D-printed titanium components and specially tuned micro-mufflers.

The Valen has a 170-litre boot, with an optional Touring Pack adding a bespoke luggage set.

Aston Martin Valen: Interior

Inside, the Valen gets a new cockpit focused on reducing visual clutter and creating a more driver-oriented environment. A slim, angled centre console incorporates 3D-printed components and a switchgear layout inspired by the Valhalla.

Buyers can choose between Sports Plus seats or lightweight carbon-fibre performance seats. The cabin can be specified in Semi-Aniline leather and Alcantara or full Semi-Aniline leather, with multiple trim combinations and extensive personalisation options through Q by Aston Martin.
