Bureaucratic shake-up in Rajasthan; 79 officers transferred ahead of panchayat polls

The Rajasthan government has transferred 26 IAS officers and 53 Rajasthan Administrative Service officers in a major administrative reshuffle, according to official orders issued late on Monday.

The changes come ahead of elections to urban local bodies and Panchayati Raj institutions in the state. Several officers posted in development authorities, urban bodies and district-level positions have been shifted.

According to the IAS transfer order, Ajmer Development Authority Commissioner Nitya K has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Energy Department. Shilpa Singh, Registrar of Sardar Patel University of Police, Security and Criminal Justice, Jodhpur, has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Planning Department.

Jodhpur Development Authority Commissioner Utsah Chaudhary has been shifted as Joint Secretary in the Disaster Management and Relief Department. Giridhar, who was serving as chief executive officer of the Sriganganagar Zila Parishad and holding additional responsibilities, has been appointed chief executive officer of the Bhiwadi Integrated Development Authority in Khairthal-Tijara.

Pratibha Verma has been appointed Director of the Medical and Health Department, while Abhishek Jain has been posted as chief executive officer of the Sriganganagar Zila Parishad. Gaurav Budania has been appointed Commissioner of the Ajmer Municipal Corporation, and Ahmed Niyazi Salmani has been appointed Additional Chief Executive Officer of the Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation.

Rashmi Rani, who was serving as chief executive officer of the Jaisalmer Zila Parishad, has been appointed Commissioner of the Ajmer Development Authority. In a separate order, the government also transferred 53 Rajasthan Administrative Service officers, completing a wide-ranging reshuffle ahead of the local body and Panchayati Raj polls.
