Tim Taranto has again been the Tigers’ best player, and has 29 touches, including seven clearances, to half-time.

But I wonder what he is really thinking about life at Punt Rd.

Yes, he is well paid, but the Tigers have been dismal since he left GWS and joined the club in 2023.

He has signed until the end of 2029, and will hope the wheel finally turns under Adem Yze next year.

The Cats are romping away with this match and it’s not even close now.

They just need to protect themselves and share around the minutes, then they will have a week off before playing an elimination final.

The young Tigers need to put their all on the line and try to leave this match with something more than another hiding.

What a fightback from the Giants.

GWS stared abject humiliation in the face before slashing their worrying 46-point quarter-time deficit right back to 21 at the main break.

Jake Stringer, playing his last game in orange and charcoal, has three goals on the board, while also missing two relative sitters.

Captain Toby Greene, also possibly bidding farewell to the club, has had an “almost” night with 1.3 to his name so far.

Are mercurial pair Jake Stringer and Toby Greene playing their last game in Giants colours?

Both would be eager to make an impact and both duly goaled as GWS showed more competitiveness in the second term.

Isaac Cummings’ reply for Adelaide has ensured the chasm remains massive.

The Giants’ horror night took a turn for the worst with Sam Taylor, their premier defender, failing a HIA after taking a vicious but accidental knee to the back of his head from Riley Thilthorpe in the opening term.

Adelaide lead 69-31 with 6 mins left in 2Q.

Young Tiger Sam Banks has been ruled out of the rest of the game.

He has been taken to hospital with an elevated heart rate.

Kayo Sports reported that the Tigers have sent Banks to hospital as a precaution.

The Giants desperately need to settle. Riley Hamilton has done his bit, starting the second term with a clever crumbing goal.

Sam Taylor is off the field for GWS, forcing a couple of match-up changes, with Harry Himmelberg going onto Riley Thilthorpe and Connor Idun switching to the rampant Taylor Walker.

Meanwhile, Clayton Oliver started the quarter as Izak Rankine’s newest opponent. Good luck with that, Clarry.

Adelaide lead 56-17 with 15 mins left in 2Q.

It’s time for the mercy rule here as the Cats have booted 10-straight goals.

The Cats are dominant through the midfield and are finding space too easily.

We know the Tigers are rebuilding, and are young, and have had injury issues etc, but this isn’t good enough. This could be a 100-point belting to finish the season.

Is Taylor Walker really a 36-year-old soon-to-be retiree?

It might be worth checking after soared high in the air and almost clung onto a mark of the year contender, before somersaulting and avoiding a potentially nasty landing.

The free kick – for shepherding, tackling, take your pick – against Harry Himmelberg was a touch harsh, but Walker won’t mind, duly walking back and slotting his third goal. He could go seriously big on his night of nights.

Adelaide lead 32-9 with 6 mins left in 1Q.
