Actor Ranveer Singh has recalled the difficult phase in his career before the success of Dhurandhar, saying the support he received when some of his films were not doing well-made the faith shown in him for the ambitious franchise especially meaningful. The two-part Dhurandhar saga has reportedly collected more than Rs 3,000 crore worldwide during its theatrical run.

Speaking about the project in Reliance’s documentary Parvah Hai Toh Parivar Hai, Ranveer said, “I have to say I was given all the love, all the support and all the encouragement, even at a time when my movies were not doing well.” He added, “Career hai, ups and downs hote rehte hain (Ups and downs are a part of career). But to have received that kind of support meant a lot to me.”

Ranveer highlighted the immense challenges involved in mounting and executing Dhurandhar, while emphasising that its scale required unwavering backing. He credited the Jio team and the Ambani family for placing strong conviction in the project during a quiet phase at the box office.

Reflecting on his career setbacks before the action franchise turned his momentum, the actor expressed gratitude for the support that helped break new ground.

With Dhurandhar behind him, Ranveer has moved on to another large-scale project. He is currently working on Pralay, a survival drama directed by Jai Mehta and set in a near-future Mumbai where a deadly pandemic is followed by a zombie outbreak.

Pralay will also mark Ranveer’s move into production. He will feature alongside actor Kalyani Priyadarshan, who drew wider attention after Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra in 2025, while further details about the film remain under wraps as shooting continues.

Ranveer is also entering a new phase in his personal life. He and Deepika Padukone are preparing to embrace parenthood again, with Deepika recently sharing the news in a social media post featuring their daughter Dua, whom the couple welcomed in 2024.
