Nine people were hurt in the Oman street incident, including one Indian.

Muscat: A car in Oman veered off the road on Saturday, August 22 and killed one American nationwide and injured nine others.

The accident occurred on Sultan Said bin Taimur Road in the Wilayat of Haima, according to the Royal Oman Police ( ROP) in a post on X. The highway links Al Wusta and Dhofar, two southwestern governorates in Oman, with the northern regions of the country.

The ROP Air Wing transported two of the injured to Nizwa Hospital for more care on an airlift from Haima. The doctor received the remaining injuries by emergency.

The authorities did not give more information about the circumstances that caused the car to veer off the road or the cause of the accident.

Two days prior to the incident, the ROP Air Wing performed a second medical evacuation following a split crash on the same path. One Muscat national was flown from Haima Hospital to Nizwa Hospital during that event, while five people were taken by ambulance.
