Hyderabad: A 32-year-old woman died allegedly by suicide by jumping off the apartment building in KPHB Colony on Monday, August 24.
The deceased, identified as Sheethal, was suffering from depression, the Deccan Chronicle reported. Sheethal was from Kannur in Kerala.
KPHB Sub-Inspector Shashidhar said the deceased had married Sonu Purushothaman, a deputy manager at State Bank of India (SBI), six years ago.
They lived in Panchvati Apartments along with their four-year-old daughter and Purushothaman’s parents.
Sheethal reportedly went up the terrace staircase around 4 pm and sat there for some time before climbing onto the terrace and jumping into the compound below. She sustained multiple injuries and died on the spot.
The KPHB police reached the scene and launched an inquiry. On speaking with her husband and her brother back home, the police learnt that Sheethal was on medical treatment for severe depression.
Police informed her parents in Kerala, and the body was shifted to the Gandhi Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway.
