Bengaluru: The Special Investigation Team of the CCB has detained five people alleged to have used advanced electronic devices and digital card scanners to allegedly defraud prosperous players of large sums of money and have interrogated an alleged high-tech gambling cheating racket.
Tabrez, Haji Ali, Abthalla, Nakeeb, and Abdul have been identified as the arrested people. According to authorities, the accused intended financially successful individuals and allegedly invited them to gaming parties after organizing the games in their favor.
According to researchers, the gang allegedly used advanced technology to record playing cards and gather data about the cards while playing the game. Before their competitors could comprehend the situation, the tech allegedly reportedly made it possible for them to determine which cards were likely to be advantageous.
Use clumsy electrical devices to deceive
The accused allegedly used covert electronic devices, including devices, tiny wireless earbuds, and other items that resemble car keys, according to authorities. Some devices were reportedly made to resemble mobile phones or other common objects, making it difficult for people to identify the cheating.
The crew reportedly employed a method to woo their targets into believing in themselves. The accused do purposefully lose some games in the first stages to persuade the players that they were real participants. The accused supposedly used the electronic equipment to get subsequent sessions and recoup lakhs of rupees once the patients started wagering larger quantities.
Authorities believe the accused perhaps had cheated on many people using the same strategy. Additionally, investigators are looking into claims that the crew provided the sophisticated equipment to various individuals engaged in betting activity.
Gadgets being looked at to determine system size
During the course of the operation, CCB officials seized electronic playing-card scanners and other supposedly cheating-related electronic devices. Seven mobile devices, three two-wheelers, an rickshaw, and one vehicles were likewise seized. The seized property’s total price has been estimated to be around Rs 50 million.
The accused have been placed in captivity custody, with the accused still being detained. To determine the breadth of the system and identify additional suspects, authorities are examining the seized gadgets and wireless phones.
Additionally, researchers are looking into the alleged betting locations and are trying to determine the number of patients and the total amount of cash involved.
The CCB has cautioned the general public against engaging in large-dollar gambling, citing the potential for organized groups to control the game and result in significant financial losses.
