CNG prices in Delhi will increase by Rs 3.89 per kg from Saturday, August 29, Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) said on Friday, citing soaring international LNG prices amid the West Asia crisis.
The revised prices will come into effect from 6 am on Saturday. In Delhi, the retail price of CNG will rise from Rs 83.09 per kg to Rs 86.98 per kg.

IGL said a significant portion of the input gas required for the CNG segment is being met through imported spot LNG. Global LNG prices have nearly doubled compared with the pre-crisis period since the re-escalation of the West Asia crisis in July 2026, affecting LNG cargo movements through the Strait of Hormuz.
The company said rising demand for CNG in India, coupled with elevated international LNG prices, has led to a considerable increase in input gas costs.
“With international LNG prices remaining elevated and the cost impact becoming increasingly significant, a calibrated revision of Rs 3.89 per kg has now become necessary to partially offset the increase in input gas cost,” IGL said.
The company added that despite the revision, Delhi’s CNG retail price remains among the most economical for consumers, while CGD entities have largely absorbed the impact of volatile international gas prices to keep CNG competitive with alternative fuels.
