Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav arrived in Rewa on Saturday to review the flood situation and directed officials to ensure food, clothing and clean drinking water for affected people, officials said.
From the Circuit House, Yadav reviewed the situation in Satna and Rewa through video conference after arriving from Delhi. He also asked authorities to conduct a survey, provide relief funds and speed up rescue work in the worst-hit areas.

During the review, Yadav told the Satna collector to make sure that all flood-hit people and pilgrims staying in Chitrakoot were given food, clothing and clean drinking water. He said rescue equipment from districts less affected by the rains should be moved to flood-hit districts, and that NDRF teams should carry out rescue operations without delay.
The Satna collector said rescue operations had been carried out in six villages and seven people had been moved to safe places. He added that the situation would improve if there was no rain at night. He also said the Nayagaon dam had been damaged and the extent of the damage was being assessed. Yadav further directed officials to arrange safe accommodation for devotees and residents visiting Chitrakoot and to provide them food packets. He said the number of devotees staying at the Sadguru Ashram should be collected and their families should be contacted and kept informed. Officials said the largest number of people were staying in Jaitwara village, where adequate food, water and clothing had been arranged.
When Yadav asked about the Rewa-Satna and Satna-Chitrakoot routes, the collector said the situation in Rewa was currently under control. Officials added that assistance would be provided to flood-affected people, including for animal loss, if any. The review meeting focused on relief, rescue and support for people affected by the floods in Satna and Rewa.
