Hugh Jackman is offering some lucky fans the chance to win free rent for a month as the actor struggles to sell his lavish $40 million New York City apartment.
The 57-year-old Wolverine star has joined Bilt founder Ankur Jain for the company’s latest Rent Free game show, according to Realtor, where celebrity guests attempt to guess the top answers to survey questions in a style similar to Family Feud.
The better the celebrity performs, the more Bilt members win free rent for a month, which can be up to $2500 per person.
Jackman’s involvement in the digital game show comes as he tries to sell his expensive New York City abode, which remains on the market for just under $40 million.
In March, he put the sprawling city unit, which he once shared with his ex-wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, on the market less than one year after the former couple finalised their divorce in June 2025.
Jackman and Furness purchased the palatial five-bedroom dwelling for $29.3 million in 2008 and had originally listed it for sale in June 2022 for $54.2 million; however, it was removed from the market just two months later.
Instead, the pair chose to rent out the property, listing it for $174,000 a month in September 2023, around the same time they announced their separation.
Though the listing does not mention the property’s celebrity owner, it does hint at the seller’s wish to remain as private as possible, noting that there are “very limited showings” being offered to potential buyers.
The three-storey apartment, starting on the eighth floor, overlooks the Hudson River and features spacious entertaining spaces, a terrace, a library that doubles as a guest room and a professional-grade kitchen.
A spiral staircase connects all floors and four of the five main bedrooms all have individual ensuites.
The entire 10th floor is regarded as the primary suite which has a spa-style bathroom, a sauna and a private terrace.
Jackman went public with his new relationship with Sutton Foster in 2025 and the pair were met with scrutiny, having known each other for 24 years.
They first met in 2002 when Jackman visited Foster backstage after her Tony-winning performance in the Broadway production Thoroughly Modern Millie.
In May 2025, Furness opened up about her marriage breakdown, saying her belief in God helped her navigate the “traumatic journey of betrayal”.
