Filmmaker Priyadarshan has revealed a new detail about his next collaboration with Akshay Kumar. The actor will play a hunter in the comedy-thriller, which marks the duo’s ninth film together and Priyadarshan’s 99th directorial.
Priyadarshan is set to reunite with Akshay Kumar once again, and this time, the actor will be seen in the role of a hunter. The yet-to-be-officially-titled comedy-thriller, reportedly called Wicked Sunny, will mark the filmmaker’s 99th directorial and his ninth collaboration with Akshay.

During an interaction with India Today, Priyadarshan was asked what audiences could expect from Akshay’s character in the upcoming film. Keeping the details brief, the filmmaker revealed, “It is going to be very, very interesting; I am making him play a hunter.”
While Priyadarshan did not divulge further details about the character or the film’s premise, the revelation offers the first indication of Akshay’s role in the project.
The upcoming comedy-thriller is being backed by Tips Films and is expected to go on floors in December 2026. The film has reportedly been titled Wicked Sunny, although an official announcement about the title is awaited.
The project will extend Akshay and Priyadarshan’s long-standing creative partnership. The actor-director duo have previously collaborated on films including Hera Pheri, Garam Masala, Bhagam Bhag, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, De Dana Dan and Khatta Meetha.
They reunited years later for Bhooth Bangla and have also worked together on Haiwaan.
Haiwaan is set to release on September 11.
