Aaron Rodgers intends to start a family once he retires from the NFL.
The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback, 42, is set to bow out of the sport at the end of the upcoming season and explained that he will be focused on having children with his wife Brittani once his career ends.
Asked about his retirement plans, Aaron told Adam Schein on SiriusXM: “I’m hopefully going to be supporting my pregnant wife because we’re going to start a family and I’m not going to be making a lot of appearances or statements.
“And I’m looking forward to a life of quiet after 22 years in the pros and three in college and getting my body healed up and working on a family. That’s what I’m looking forward to.”
Aaron explained that looking after his brother’s children has made him keen to have little ones of his own.
The former Super Bowl champion said: “I’m definitely excited about it.
“I mean, being back in my family’s lives and I’m having a lot of fun being Uncle Aaron. I mean, I have a few godkids that I’m involved with, but being Uncle Aaron to my brother’s kids has been a lot of fun.
“And the more I’m around them, the more I get excited and so does the wife about having some of our own. So, yeah, I’m excited for that. I can’t wait for the next chapter of life and all that entails, and sleepless nights and crying babies and changing diapers and all those things. I’m looking forward to all of it.”
Aaron stressed that he and Brittani plan to be expecting a child in 12 months time.
He said: “I’m talking about hoping that I have a pregnant wife by next [year] this time.”
Aaron and Brittani tied the knot in a secret wedding ceremony last year and the NFL star – who has previously dated the likes of Olivia Munn and Shailene Woodley – insists that there is “no better feeling in the world” than being a married man.
He told the NFL Network: “When you meet the right one, and you’re with the right one, your whole world changes in a second. And to have that person that unconditionally loves you behind the scenes, there’s no better feeling in the world, and I have the most incredible wife.”
