A pair of socks has never held greater meaning than those emblazoned with the lovable Fat Cat, complete with his signature 3D fluffy ears.

The limited edition footwear item has launched ahead of WA’s most famous weekend, Telethon, and the public can now snap up an exclusive pair from Woolworths to help support sick, vulnerable and disadvantaged children and babies.

The funky socks are a collaboration with Australian sock brand MADMIA and proceeds from every sale, made either in Woolies or online via the Telethon Shop, will go back into Telethon.

They are knee-high and feature bright colours, a picture of Fat Cat and the Telethon logo, selling for $19.99.

The Laver Family, which donated its video production services to promote the socks, made a commitment to “always do something for Telethon” and especially after winning Channel Seven’s Dancing Together challenge.

“That was the first time we performed as a family, on Telethon. In a way, that was the catalyst for our brand, The Lavers, as a family, because then we went onto win Australia’s Got Talent,” Viv Laver told The West.

After that, the family dedicated themselves to using their platform to support Telethon with whatever it needed each year, and in 2026, it was called on for help in promoting the Fat Cat socks.

Mrs Laver’s daughter, Raziah, is the star model of the socks, and features in a funky video shot with other young talented dancers in a Woolworths store.

“Everyone connects in their own way, and our way of connecting is through dance and with hip hop and we’re just blessed our children do the same, and then we share that as a family,” she said.

“We will always do what we can to support and raise awareness . . . I think it’s great that MADMIA jumped on board with such a fun project and I just hope other companies continue to take the lead and do all they can to bring some joy and hope.”

The socks are available in Woolworths supermarkets or online at Teletehon7.com/shop.
