LAWS PROPOSED IN NSW AFTER SUSPECTED GANGLAND MURDERS:

* An aggravated offence for conspiracy and attempted murder which would mean planning a killing would be punishable by life imprisonment

* People suspected of involvement in organised crime could be hit with a court-imposed restriction order, limiting associations and travel along with access to devices and the internet

* Using a digital platform to arrange a serious crime would become an offence, as would encouraging someone to do so or to evade detection for that crime

* Four additional offences relating to public shootings and firebombings added to the serious children’s indictable offences scheme, to be tried in higher courts where kids face adult penalties including life imprisonment

* Police ability to crack encrypted devices to be backed with $15 million tech upgrade
