Carmen Electra struggled to breathe during her latest Playboy photoshoot.
The 54-year-old model and actress, who has estimated she’s appeared on “over 150 covers” for the iconic men’s lifestyle publication across its various international and regional editions, and she returned to the magazine’s pages for its Summer 2026 issue exactly 30 years after her Playboy debut.
For the shoot, she posed in a minidress and spike-studded bra, as well as a long-sleeved mesh top, and a totally sheer fishnet bodysuit.
She told Entertainment Weekly: “When you’re actually wearing the costume, you cannot breathe. They don’t want you to breathe.
“The new house bunny actually said, ‘Because you’re a celebrity, we’re gonna let you breathe just a little bit. If you were a playmate, you wouldn’t be breathing.’
“I was like, ‘Okay, thank you!’”
The Scary Movie star joked she is “kind of collecting bunny costumes at this point” as she offered an insight into the process behind the scenes.
She added: “They had a seamstress that was here basically the entire day until I left, who would sew you in, take it off, sew some more, put it back on, take it off, sew some more. It was continuous until the costume fit really super tight.”
Despite the gruelling shoot, Carmen admitted “it was really fun” doing a Playboy shoot again, and she was encouraged to embrace her past with the magazine for an appearance at The Abbey.
She said: “Basically they wanted to dress me as a Playboy Bunny because I was going to [the West Hollywood gay club The Abbey], and so they did.
“They came over with all these different Playboy bunny costumes. I decided to go with the leopard print, and that is the Roberto Cavalli costume.
“I already have one, and now I have another one. So I’m happy!”
Earlier this year, Carmen reflected on her time on Baywatch as lifeguard Lelani ‘Lani’ McKenzie from 1997 to 1998, as well as in the show’s spinoff movie.
Speaking to Fox News Digital, she recalled viewers being shocked by how revealing the lifeguard outfits were.
She said: “Maybe it was the first time on television you could see so much skin because we really were playing lifeguards, right? So, we could be in these skimpy outfits.”
She added how some viewers were likely left thinking: “’Oh my God, what is this? We can see nipples.’”
Despite all the flesh on display, Carmen pointed out that the show was actually educational, with viewers able to learn practical skills such as CPR.
She added: “You can also learn something. Because we heard from a lot of people, a lot of fans out there, that they learned so much watching the show.”
